the small scale sector which started its operation way back in 1960.
Its agro range of induction motors went on stream in the year 1979.
'Batliboi' had been marketing these motors under the brand name of 'Batliboi'
through their all india dealers networks. Spartan subsequently started
manufaturing and marketing tailor made special purpose electric motors with the
acquisition of modern assembly and testing facilities and it is thus well
equipped to cater to the requirments of customers from various industrial segment.
Right from raw material through the verious production and testing lines,
down to despach, every section makes conscientious and concerted efforts to
weave in that extra unifying core of quality in the product. Spartan is one of
those few companies who a 'History Card' for each motor that goes out of its
production line, so that any minutest details with regard to its Construction,
Components,Tests and Performance can be traced back even after years.
The company self imposed quality system and procedures are of a very high
standard. This is obvious from the fact that Spartan secured the
ISO-9001 certification from TUV in the year 1995 for their complete range
of AC squirrel cage Induction Moters, Coolant Pumps and Stator Rotor Sets for
semi-hermetic compressors. This made Spartan the first SSI Motor Manufacturer
to get this coveted certification.

present thrust in exports, some of our range of motors are CSA
approved for the North American market and CE approved for the
European market.
